Mission Statement

The mission of the UC Merced Undergraduate Research Journal is to give the best research produced by UCM undergraduate students the widest possible exposure and the opportunity to develop credibility as academic researchers.

Diversity Statement

It is our responsibility as an organization of the University of California, Merced to understand and embrace the backgrounds, educational and economic circumstances, and personal identities of its students and faculty. As an organization of the UC, we are beholden by the bylaws of the Office of Campus Climate and Compliance as well as the UC Merced Principles of Community.

Our obligation to uphold these values include but are not limited to:

  • Respect and equal access for students and faculty of different cultural, linguistic, regional, and national backgrounds
  • Respect and equal access for students and faculty of different age, gender, sexual orientation, race, and ethnicity
  • Respect and equal access for students and faculty of different socioeconomic and academic circumstances
  • Respect and equal access for students and faculty of different religious and ideological beliefs
