The mission of the UC Merced Undergraduate Research Journal is to highlight excellence in research produced by UC Merced undergraduate students and give them the opportunity to develop their credibility as academic researchers. We want to collectively praise and showcase the importance of the work that is being done in the many disciplines studied by UC Merced students. Finally, we want to present the campus community and beyond meaningful manuscripts that contribute towards the advancement of the arts and sciences.
We seek to empower students from all disciplines to feel proud of their research work so that they may feel comfortable enough to share it with the rest of the world. We strive to publish relevant research that could contribute to the work of others and be a step in furthering foundational knowledge in an open-access format.
We respect and grant equal opportunities for all students regardless of cultural, linguistic, regional, national backgrounds, age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic and academic circumstances, religious or ideological beliefs.
